Treatment Protocol
Pre-Treatment Procedure
- No direct sun exposure or solarium visits for eight weeks
- Remove any cosmetics
- Herpes prophylaxis
- Choose the correct eye protection
- Local anesthesia is not required, but cold air can be used for comfort
- Patient education. (e.g., contraindications, pain, expected result, number of sessions)
Treatment Procedure
- Test treatment for each patient
- Always use thin layer of clear ultrasound gel
- Use energy densities required
- Place the scanner and apply in one pass
Note: Adjust brightness of the aiming beam
Post-Treatment Procedure
- No direct sun exposure or solarium visits for eight weeks
- Sun blocker of SPF 50 is recommended
- No aggressive care products! (only use mild soaps for personal hygiene)
- Avoid night creams with peeling agents 10 days before and after treatment
- No sauna for at least two weeks!
Contraindications

- Skin type VI
- History of herpes simplex, allergy, scarring
- A history of keloid formation
- Cancerous and precancerous lesions and nevus cell nevi in the treatment area
- Pregnancy
- Recent or planned sun exposure
- Port wine stains distal to the elbows or knees
- Isotretinoin administration within six months of presentation
- Anticoagulant administration
- Avoid night creams with peeling agents 10 days before and after treatment
