Treatment Protocol

Pre-Treatment Procedure

  • No direct sun exposure or solarium visits for eight weeks
  • Remove any cosmetics
  • Herpes prophylaxis
  • Choose the correct eye protection
  • Local anesthesia is not required, but cold air can be used for comfort
  • Patient education. (e.g., contraindications, pain, expected result, number of sessions)

Treatment Procedure

  • Test treatment for each patient
  • Always use thin layer of clear ultrasound gel
  • Use energy densities required
  • Place the scanner and apply in one pass

Note: Adjust brightness of the aiming beam

Post-Treatment Procedure

  • No direct sun exposure or solarium visits for eight weeks
  • Sun blocker of SPF 50 is recommended
  • No aggressive care products! (only use mild soaps for personal hygiene)
  • Avoid night creams with peeling agents 10 days before and after treatment
  • No sauna for at least two weeks!

Contraindications

  • Skin type VI
  • History of herpes simplex, allergy, scarring
  • A history of keloid formation
  • Cancerous and precancerous lesions and nevus cell nevi in the treatment area
  • Pregnancy
  • Recent or planned sun exposure
  • Port wine stains distal to the elbows or knees
  • Isotretinoin administration within six months of presentation
  • Anticoagulant administration
  • Avoid night creams with peeling agents 10 days before and after treatment
